Alumasc
Alumasc Low Modulus 310cc Dow Corning 791 Silicone Sealant
The Alumasc Low Modulus Dow Corning 791 Silicone Sealant (310cc) is designed as a protective joint sealant for use across all Alumasc Rainwater Systems, ensuring a long-lasting and weather-resistant finish.
Cast gutters generally overlap at the joint with a spigot and socket, secured with bolts, nuts and washers. This sealant is applied to provide full joint retention and weatherproofing. For best results, thoroughly clean and dry all joints before application. Unpainted cast gutters should be primed using Dow Corning 1200 or Feb Primer No. 5.
Apply sufficient sealant between the gutter and socket union clip so that it compresses and squeezes out slightly when tightened, ensuring a watertight finish. A minimum 3mm thickness should be maintained across the joint and around fixing holes. Screws in the sole should be tightened first, avoiding overtightening to protect the integrity of the joint.
